The Development Consent Order for the West Midlands Interchange was issued in May 2020. It covers a developable area of cover 350 acres of mainly greenfield land within the Green Belt between Stafford and Wolverhampton. The Order provides for a Rail freight Interchange capable of handling 10 trains per day together with around 8m sqft of rail served warehousing and ancillary service buildings.
CBRE prepared a comprehensive town planning due diligence report to support the intended acquisition of the site by Logistics Capital Partners and Oxford Properties in Spring 2021. Upon successful acquisition, CBRE will be responsible for obtaining the necessary detailed approvals set out in the Order to enable the phased delivery of the consented warehousing space, rail freight and other infrastructure.
